Possible Serial Killer in Pittsburgh

Possible Pittsburg Serial Killer" (12+) Pittsburg police announced there could be a serial killer in their city who has claimed the life of more than a dozen prostitutes since the late 1980s. However, detectives can't establish a connection between the cases except the victims' hard lives as drug addicts who sold themselves for a fix and ended up dead in remote areas outside the city, some in suburban communities and others in outlying counties.

Some victims, such as Leah Hall, 32, of Oakland, who was found dead in Carnegie in 1997, were strangled. But the coroner's office hasn't been able to establish a cause for others, such as that of Cherida Warmley, 43, of Lawrenceville, whose skeleton was found in North Versailles last year, or Faye Jackson, 24, of Garfield, whose dismembered remains were found in a Monroeville creek in 1994.

Talk of a link began in October, 1999, with the discovery of the skeletal remains of Angelique Morgan, 27, in an abandoned Shadyside house. In the winter of 1997, after the bodies of Hall and Dorothy Siemers, 29, turned up in the suburbs, county police said they suspected the deaths could be connected.

Three years ago, Torbin and Pittsburgh police Cmdr. Ron Freeman even discussed going to the media to drum up information about some of the deaths, although they never did.

While some city and county detectives privately doubt there is a link, others point to the improbability that so many similar deaths -- perhaps as many as 18 -- would be the work of different people.

At least five Allegheny County deaths fit the category of prostitutes from the city found dead in the suburbs: Hall, Siemers, Warmley, Jackson and Jessica Freeman, 15, whose beaten body was discovered along railroad tracks in Bethel Park in 1992. Two recent deaths also might be part of the police investigation.

On June 28, the skeletal remains of a young woman were found in a vacant house in Wilkinsburg. She has yet to be identified, but an autopsy showed she was strangled. On Oct. 6, Morgan's skeletal remains were discovered. The cause of her death hasn't been determined, but police suspect she was slain, because she was found under a carpet and a mattress with her sweat shirt wrapped around her head. Police said she was a prostitute and drug addict.

"We have developed suspects in most of these cases, but the evidence does not overlap," said Sgt. Lee Torbin, a 27-year homicide squad veteran. "There is no common denominator."

Shot In The Back While Riding Motorcycle 5-14-2010

What Is The World Coming To? In The Most Liveable City in the United States, a 30 year old man was shot in the back while riding his motorcycle. The incident occurred in Homewood near Tokay Street at about 1:30 a.m. on May 14, 2010. What type a person would shoot a man 'in the back' while riding his motorcyle? Nyia Page - Senseless Crime on a Child

What is the world coming to? A father is supposed to protect his child, not harm them and then kill them. What demon possessed this child killer? What lead up to the thoughts in his head to enable him to engage in this senseless crime? It is a good thing that an angel was amoung the turmoil. Someone that could testify about what really occurred that night. Someone else that would have to suffer the pain 'of a lifetime' the hands of a crazed child killer.

"The child's answers came one or two words at a time, but his story was riveting. He said Page woke him up, lay down beside his bed and sexually abused him, and when he told Page to stop, the man grabbed his mouth to silence him and ran from the room.

Nyia followed her father out of the bedroom, according to the boy, who said that was the last time he saw her. Hours later, she was found dead."

William Page said, "I was so just mad she was tearing up them Pampers, man, and I kicked her, you know, in, you know, in her private, and it started bleeding," Page said on the CD, which was played Monday for the jury in his homicide trial at the Allegheny County Courthouse."

I cannot understand why a father would abuse his young biological daughter and then after she keeps taking her diaper off (probably due to intense pain), take her out into the cold freezing weather and leave her in the woods to die? Why??? What possessed this grown man to become such a sick individual to do this to a helpless baby???

One of the latest most talked about crimes in the news has to do with the father that murdered his 23 month old daughter after sexually abusing her. The article from KDKA notes that, "William Page was accused of leaving young Nyia Page in a wooded area of Rankin near railroad tracks, where she froze to death in February 2007. On Monday, Page was convicted of homicide in the first degree, kidnapping, aggravated indecent assault and giving false reports to law enforcement."

Addressing the Matter of Guns...

Crime will exist as time goes on; however, it is the guns being made available to the individuals using them that enforces the shootings and deaths that occur. Until a serious effort is made to the gun suppliers, the crimes will not decrease. The various forms of media don't help either. The daily brainwashing and subliminal hypnotizing of killings only perpectuate that shooting and killing is okay and acceptable. We hear it on the news everyday, and see it in movies and TV all day long. When did abnormal behavior suddenly become normal behavior?

We have to ask outselves - 'Who is really responsible for the crime?'.

Another Shooting and Fatal Murder In Wilkinsburg, PA 12/30/09

Another shooting has taken place in Wilkinsburg, PA the day before New Years Eve. I happened to be driving up Penn Avenue and noticed two police cars, as I was on the cell phone talking to a friend. I reported, there are two police cars in the area of Penn and Midland Avenue in Wilkinsburg. WILKINSBURG, Pa. -- A man has died after he was shot in the face in Wilkinsburg.

Police said Maurice Harrison, 44, was shot on Angela Drive. They have not made an arrest, and they have not named any suspects. They said they are looking for a car in connection with the crime.

Police said a witness saw a maroon 2000 Ford Expedition leaving the scene of the crime. It has the Pennsylvania license plate No. GKV 6244. Police requested anyone with information to contact them.

“Pittsburgh’s Finest” – The Powerful Pittsburgh Police Force

The bad thing about crimes that occur in Pittsburg are when they involve our very own - "Pittsburgh's Finest" police officers. For this to be one of the 'most-livable' cities in the U.S., sometimes I ask myself, "Why" when we Pittsburghers have some very strange crimes taking place, and why do some of the crimes involve crimes committed by people that are hired 'to protect and serve'?

What do you think possesses some of the people living here to do the things that they do??? Some of the police-related crimes are alleged to be racially motivated. The question I have is WHY? Why are there so many racially motivated crimes and crimes committed involving police officers in one of the most livable cities in America?

Racially Motivated Crimes – Driving While Black
In 1995, just three years after the beating of Rodney King in Los Angeles (see the below link) an African American man was murdered after being severely beaten by police officers (similar to the Rodney King beating) after driving a Jaguar through Brentwood, a suburb of Pittsburgh.

For what many believe was a racially motivated beating, Johnny Gammage, cousin to Ray Seals former Pittsburgh Steeler. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Seals) was murdered in the Pittsburgh for what many believe was due to the fact that he was an African American man driving a Jaguar in a predominately white community. The very sad thing about this incident was that a life was taken of a person that was trying to make a difference in life... I had researched a link once describing the community and youth related things that Mr. Gammage was working on. (I will add that later to this post after I obtain the information again).

To my knowledge, Johnny Gammage’s beating was not video-taped; however, the police officers took the liberty to beat him to death. Mr. Gammage was a cousin to one of the Pittsburgh Steelers Ray Seals.

I was astonished after attended one of the events held at the Carnegie Library in Oakland, focused on discussing the death of Johnny Gammage that was attended by Coroner Cyril Wecht, the Citizen Police Review Board, attorneys, police officers, and concerned citizens, and one of the things said by one of the legal professional was, "If you, or you have a relative that is a young African American man living in Pittsburgh between the ages of 19 to 30, it may be wise to leave the city, because there appears to be a crime for driving while black" in the city of Pittsburgh.

I happened to be living in LA at the time and must admit, that incident and the time following it, was one of the most frightening times of my entire 15 years of living in LA. More frightening than the biggest earthquake I ever encounted while living in LA. The energy and racial tension was so intense, it inspired me to write a poem that later developed into a song that I've posted to youtube. I wrote the song, based on the way I felt at the time following the beating of Rodney King and the outcome of the trial when the officers were acquitted. I found the crimes in Pittsburgh to be interesting considering this is supposed to be one of the most liveable cities in the US. Wow, I wonder, what is one of the most unliveable cities like to live in? This is pretty scary.

Some of the things that can be developed from emotions resulting from the crimes are various, powerful art-forms. For example, in addition to the Mental Game song I wrote and later produced video, I've written other poems based on experiences. I entered a poetry contest back in around 2002 at the University of Pittsburgh and recited a poem that I wrote about love, and I won an 'honorable mention' for my poem; however, the 1st place winner that goes by the name 'Jasiri X'. Jasiri X wrote a very powerful poem regarding the death of Michael Ellerbee, since then he has written many more poems, songs and commentaries.
